Well, here we are in March already, the year 2021 is already well on its way, despite the fact that I’m still not used to write 2021. This week has been our reading week at Loyalist College, so no class. But despite the break, I’ve been busy enough, even shooting more than usual.

Chasing Stories, a photojournalist’s life
I did not have to produce stories for our Loyalist Photojournalism publication (The Pioneer) this week but this is the time to chase new stories.
As I’m finding out through our regular production of The Pioneer, journalism is a constant struggle to find and chase relevant stories for our readers. As photojournalists, we also try to always get good visuals to accompany our stories as well. And that is not always easy for some stories, and especially now during a global pandemic.

We’re already half way through our shortened semester. As this is our last semester in the photojournalism program, we only get 10 weeks of class followed by four weeks of placement. We have now completed five weeks so we are half done our class time for this last semester.
