About

In my happy place in my home studio, with some of my toys.

Hello – I’m a visual storyteller with a passion for capturing true emotions through images, words or short videos.

I recently moved to Guelph, Ontario.  I was born and raised just outside Montreal as the youngest of five children. I vividly remember my dad carrying an early 35mm film camera around and I was always intrigued by photography. I joined the Canadian Armed Forces after high school and on graduation my parents gave me a Nikon EM 35mm film camera, which I still own. I carried that camera with me extensively over the years.

As I got closer to retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces, I bought my first DSLR, a Nikon D90. By that time, I had already served in Ontario, Nova Scotia and in Europe but I headed back to Europe on one last tour before retiring which gave me the opportunity to further develop my interest and passion for photography while continuing to explore Europe.

In 2019, I embarked on a two year full time study program in Photojournalism at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario and I fell in love with visual storytelling.  The program broadened my view of photography and allowed me to develop additional skills such as writing and video which have made me a more complete visual storyteller.

I joined the Guelph Photographers Guild in January 2023 and I am looking forward to continue to learn and grow as a visual storyteller as I learn from other members.
