We’re already half way through our shortened semester. As this is our last semester in the photojournalism program, we only get 10 weeks of class followed by four weeks of placement. We have now completed five weeks so we are half done our class time for this last semester.
We had another fun daily assignment this week where we are told what to shoot in the morning and have to come back in the afternoon with the images. This week, we had to find some friends and capture their emotional connection on camera.
As everyone was still in lock-down in our area, it is easier said than done. So I ventured downtown and while I was sitting in a parking lot wondering what to do, I spotted a young dad with his daughter tobogganing nearby. After a short discussion, they were happy to let me capture some images. I hope you enjoy them.

In a world with so much uncertainty, “I want her to know that I will always be there for her. I loved the father’s sentiment in this story. I thought you captured the joy on the little girls face.

Thank you, it was not as easy as it looks. The little Zinnia kept looking at me and that was the challenge as I didn’t want me (the photographer) to influence the mood/moment.
